France
wp6c6101ad_0f.jpg

France is the largest country in Western Europe, the most appealing characteristic is its diversity. There are beaches, glaciers, mountains, canyons, forests and vineyards. With the country's superb train system you can experience skiing one day and sunbathing the next.

Aquitaine the land of water, with the longest beach in Europe, a multitude of healing hot springs, dozens of inland rivers and a string of large lakes, it is no surprise how this region got it name. But although many visitors are attracted to the area for its waters surfing, swimming, water sports, therapeutic healing, boating or simply lazing on the beach - it is actually a myriad of different landscapes.

From the aromatic lavender fields and unspoiled villages to the fishing harbours and the coastline of the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region is one of the most popular holiday destinations in South of France.

Provence's landscape is varied with the Camargue wetlands to the west, the Verdon inland river gorges, the Alps to the east and, of course, the sun-drenched beaches to the south.

Languedoc-Roussillon is found in southern-central France, along the Mediterranean coast and inland. It reaches Spain at its southernmost border, and Provence on its eastern border. Not yet so developed as its rich neighbour, Provence, it has its own share of dramatic landscapes, divided by dramatic gorges, and plenty of great medieval architecture.

Basse-Normandie is one of the most historic and interesting areas of France, with its connections to William the Conqueror, and the D-day landings. For modern historians, Pegasus Bridge over the River Orne near Ouistreham is essential viewing, and for the medieval historian, Bayeux with what must be the world's longest tapestry, and its wonderful cathedral.

Throughout France we can offer over 700 villas and apartments to rent and also popular countryside retreats, gites to rent.
