COSTA de ALMERIA

The Costa de Almeria has as much variation as any of Spain’s coastline. Parts of this area are barren and it contains Europe’s only desert, which is unsurprising given the sunshine and only having around 200mm of rainfall per year.

The principal city of this area is Almeria, set against a backdrop of mountains on top of which stands an ancient Arab fortress.
